For Worcester schools & nonprofits
Become a project site
Every W4W project starts with an organization that knows what its space needs. If that's you, propose it. Funding, materials, volunteers, and planning are what we bring.
Right here on this page, about ten minutes. Proposals close Sunday, October 18 at 11:59pm.
Eligibility
Who can propose a project
Worcester Public Schools and qualifying Worcester nonprofit organizations are eligible to submit proposals. If you're not sure whether your organization qualifies, ask us before you spend time on a proposal.
Proposals for Build Day Year 15 are open now and close on Sunday, October 18 at 11:59pm. The site development team reviews every submission, and the final site list is set in late fall.
Example project types
- Playgrounds & play structures
- Basketball courts & hoops
- Blacktop games & murals
- Gardens & landscaping
- Classroom & interior improvements
- Outdoor learning spaces
The process
From proposal to Build Day
Submit a proposal
Tell us about your organization, the space, and what you need. The form takes about ten minutes.
Site visit & scoping
Our site development team visits, scopes the work with you, and estimates the budget.
Selection
The final site list is set based on impact, what can realistically be built in one day, and the funding raised that year.
Planning together
Selected sites get a student site-management team and a project plan built with your input over the winter.
Build Day
Volunteers arrive, the project gets built, and the space is yours, improved, by the end of the day.
Submit
Send us your project
It takes about ten minutes. You'll need your organization's details, a contact person, and a short description of the project and why it matters to your mission.
Proposals close Sunday, October 18 at 11:59pm.
What you'll be asked
- Organization name and address
- Primary contact, phone, and email
- An abstract of the proposed project
- Your organization's mission
- How the project furthers it
