Volunteer Tasks and Assignments:

Below is a Detailed Overview of The Assignments on Build Day That Volunteers Will Do. 

Project Overview:

We will be constructing a new playground and play area for the newly added preschool students of Clark Street School.

 

Project Prep Day:

Activity Leader: Peter

Objective: Assemble playground toys and digging holes in preparation for the playground

Plan:

● Remove playground toys from the boxes and assemble them per instruction manuals.

● Dig holes in designated areas.

Tools: Shovels and assembly tools

Volunteers Needed: 10

 
Project #1: Playground Installation

Activity Leader: Consigli (Rory)

Objective: Safely and efficiently install the new playground equipment.

Plan:

● Volunteers will assist Consigli Construction with preparatory tasks, such as unloading

and organizing equipment, under close supervision.

● Follow specific instructions from Consigli for installation to ensure equipment is installed

safely and correctly.

Tools: Provided By Consigli

Volunteers Needed: 8 (mainly for support roles such as equipment handling and site

preparation)

 
Project #2: Barrier Installation

Activity Leader: Sarah

Objective: Install new barriers around the playground.

Plan:

● Mark the layout for the barriers using stakes and string.

● Dig holes for the barrier posts using shovels and pickaxes.

● Place the barriers in the pre-dug holes, ensuring they are level and spaced correctly.

● Use hammers to secure the barriers in place, filling in around the posts with dirt and

packing it down for stability.

Tools: Hammers, Shovels, Pickaxes

Volunteers Needed: 10

 
Project #3: Mulch Filling

Activity Leader: Regan

Objective: Place playground mulch inside the barriers.

Plan:

● Coordinate the delivery of mulch to the site prior to the start of the project.

● Use wheelbarrows to transport mulch to specific areas.

● Spread mulch evenly using rakes, ensuring a consistent depth across all areas.

● Wear gloves to protect hands during the process.

Tools: Wheelbarrows, Shovels, Rakes, Gloves

Volunteers Needed: 10

 
Project #4: Cleanup

Activity Leader: Riley

Objective: Clean up the existing play area and surrounding spaces to enhance the overall

environment.

Plan:

● Collect debris, litter, and loose materials in trash bags.

● Use gloves for protection and trash cans for disposal.

● Ensure the area is tidy and free of potential hazards.

● Review the site for any final touch-ups or adjustments needed.

Tools Needed: Gloves, Trash Bags, Trash Cans
